sunset in Santorini

Inspired by Golden sunsets over the Aegean Sea, whitewashed villages, and long dinners that stretch into the evening.

The Invitation

Guests were invited to spend an evening in Santorini without leaving Northern California. The menu celebrated bright Mediterranean flavors, shared plates, and a table designed for slow conversation as the sun set.

the menu

For Santorini, the goal was to capture the feeling of dining along the Aegean coast; simple ingredients, vibrant citrus, fresh herbs, and dishes meant to be passed around the table. Seasonal peaches and lemons brought bright California summer flavors that echoed the Mediterranean. Shared platters encouraged conversation and connection. Several dishes could be prepared ahead of time, allowing the host to spend more time with guests than in the kitchen. A vegetarian centerpiece ensured every guest had a satisfying meal, not just a side dish. Every course paired naturally with a crisp spritz, rosé, or sparkling water.

the table

Inspired by the blue domes of Oia, overflowing bougainvillea, weathered stone, and those beautiful weathered blue doors. Originally planned as an outdoor dinner, a 102° forecast moved the gathering inside only days before. Fresh bougainvillea was draped across the room, creating the feeling of dining beneath a Mediterranean courtyard. Sometimes the unexpected changes become the most memorable part of the evening.
